LIVING THE DREAM…
SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY KNOW THE LORD
We firmly believe that if the Lord brings a great revival to the greater D.C. area, it can change the world. When hearts are changed among the most powerful and influential people anywhere, it will demand global attention. The Church is God’s plan to bring life to the perishing, but one person cannot reach everyone. This is why we planted Impact Church 10 years ago.
The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-21) commands us to go out into the nations. Impact Church has the special privilege of serving the Northern Virginia community, and the nations are here. Whether it’s a family immigrating here in search of a new life, a refugee fleeing turmoil in his/her native land, or an international student staying here for a season, we strongly believe that God has called us to go and make disciples with all the people, especially in one of the most diverse areas in the country.
However, this doesn’t stop us from going overseas! We have been blessed with so many partnerships and experiences with our brothers and sisters overseas. As we seek to make disciples and plant churches here, we want to cast the same vision of multiplication around the world, increasing every possible chance to share the hope of Christ with this world until He returns!
Whatever this looks like in your life, I pray you will be found obedient. The mission has never been more urgent. Will you please pray about being a part of this?
Living the Dream,
Lead Pastor of IMPACT church
Fairfax, VA is less than 20 miles from Washington, D.C., and most of the people that work in the district reside in Fairfax County. The church is being planted at a resident elementary school in an available, centralized location that will allow easy access to the surrounding communities. We are renting the theatre and a number of classrooms for fellowship, teaching, and most importantly – worship.
Among the location benefits and the need for seeds of The Gospel to be sown there, it is also a distinctly diverse setting. Over 40 different languages are spoken within 7 miles of where we will have fellowship. Even though global missions will be a pillar to our vision, there will be no need to board a plane in order to have an experience of reaching the nations with the Gospel.
We are also excited that the area is so close to George Mason University, which sees over 30,000 students on it’s campus each day. We also have access to ministry in Fairfax County public schools – which are composed of some of the largest schools in the commonwealth of VA.
As overwhelming and exciting as it can be, we want to reach this vast and diverse demographic with the hope of Jesus.
